Soji Apampa, Executive Director of the Convention on Business Integrity, was a participant and speaker at the 14th meeting of the UN Global Compact Working Group on the 10th principle against corruption held in Geneva from June 23 – 24, 2014.
The meeting was attended by over 60 business executives, international business associations, civil society leaders, government representatives and anti-corruption experts committed to furthering the discourse on the private sector’s role in the fight against corruption, with the goal of integrating anti-corruption and good governance goals more firmly into the global development agenda.
The 10th principle states that “Businesses should work against corruption in all its forms, including extortion and bribery. “ The Convention on Business Integrity (CBi) promotes ethical business practices, transparency and fair competition in the private and public sectors. CBI is currently sponsoring the Corporate Governance Rating System (CGRS) in partnership with the Nigerian Stock Exchange.
