The team took the opportunity presented by a training planned by Câm dairies for 50 participants and scaled it up to reach over 300, of which more than 50% of the beneficiaries were women. The training, which took place in December 2020, was designed to strengthen the capacity of beneficiaries to understand feeds and feeding, herd health management, milk handling and hygiene, as well as cooperatives formation and dynamics. The first two trainings were intended to help the pastoralists to increase milk production from their animals, improve milk handling, and improve understanding of quality of milk expected.
